Mr. Lee is a long time writer and commentator on atheism and humanism. Known previously by his nom de plume “Ebonmuse” at his first site “Ebon Musings“, a site well worth a visit for the treasure trove of thoughtful essays there, he is now the man behind Daylight Atheism on the Big Think network. With an interest in morality and ethics, current events, and the arguments for and against God, Mr. Lee has no doubt given those with unresolved questions about their faith still more unresolved questions, people without faith ammunition, and people with faith some sleepless nights. He joins us to discuss his newly published book, Daylight Atheism, in which he lays out his view that religion is not only false, but dangerous, and explains why we should aspire to be atheists. It’s a well-written, great and quick read, perfect for an introduction to atheism required by anyone. Join us!

Mr. Lee I compliment your convictions. Perhaps I need to understand you more. I listened to Episode 68 and had mixed thoughts and feelings.
I too struggled with religion and its spectrum of incongruities. For me, morals and ethics have always been evolving principals and behaviors. My attitudes about God have swayed from feelings of hostility to senses of wonder. Although I’ve yet to have any negativity regarding science I have had many awesome experiences microscopically, telascopally and between.
I could spin off in many directions in all you mentioned. The one thing I feel the need to share. If I believed there was no afterlife I would not want there to be a god either. I’m saddened in knowing there are many persons who seem sure that this life is the end.
I’ve been the beneficiary of some expanded conscienceness before sobriety. But, during 30 years of sobriety I’ve been on a conscience journey from the Event Horizon to the sub-atomic Partical Zoo. My mind’s stratsphere has awed me with visions of dark matter contorting trajectories and knowing the impossibility of nothingness.
God or no god there is too much unknown for me to care if there is or isn’t.
