This week on Think Atheist Radio we’re featuring a chat with Dr. Carlos Calle. Dr. Calle is the founder and lead of the Electrostatics and Physics Laboratory at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. A PhD in theoretical nuclear physics from Ohio University, his research interests center on electrostatic phenomenon on the surface of planets– when static electricity builds up and discharges on a rover on the surface of another planet it can mean the end of the mission right then and there! He is the author of 4 popular level science books; Einstein For Dummies; Superstrings and Other Things: A Guide To Physics; Coffee With Einstein; and The Universe– Order Without Design. We invited Dr. Calle to talk to us on the subject of this last book: how physics has progressed to the point where our modern understanding explains away the apparent design of the ordered cosmos. Here we talk about what we can say about how the universe came to be (and came to be in its current state), and we did so without ever having to resort to GODDIDIT! Listen in!
